The Final Destination (aka Final Destination 4) was released to theaters on August 28, 2009. Although this is my least favorite of the series (so far – with a 6th one on the way, we’ll see!), it ended up being the one I got to visit the most locations for since it was filmed just a few hours away from me, as opposed to across the continent in Canada.
It was filmed mostly in the New Orleans area, although the racetrack from the beginning was a combination of New Orleans sets and a real racetrack near Mobile, Alabama. The mall seen in the movie was New Orleans Centre and it has since been demolished, so I did not visit that location.

Only the actual racecar driving/crash scenes were filmed here on the track itself. The stands seen in the movie were a set built in New Orleans, and then combined with movie magic to create McKinley Speedway.

This is located two buildings over from the dry cleaner location that Janet visits later in the movie. It is still a functioning hair salon, though it was closed at the time of my visit. The grassy area that the guy is mowing is called Dublin Park.

This is located right next to the hair salon seen earlier in the movie. It was the Tulane Loyola Federal Credit Union at the time of my visit. The Symmetry jewelry shop seen in the movie is still there, though you can’t see the sign because of the tree in my photo.
