Silver Bullet was released on October 11, 1985. It is based on the 1983 novella Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King. It was filmed in North Carolina, around Wilmington and Burgaw.
I’ve been to Wilmington a couple of times for locations, but somehow never did any of the numerous Stephen King locations. I decided to remedy that and did an entire Stephen King-themed trip. I did Silver Bullet, as well as Maximum Overdrive, Firestarter, The Night Flier, and Cat’s Eye, all filmed in the Wilmington area.

This is the address for the courthouse. The shops seen in the movie are on S Wright St. and W Fremont St. right around the courthouse. Shivers’ store from I Know What You Did Last Summer was filmed here as well.

Greenfield Park has been changed a good bit since filming took place. The gazebo has been relocated to the opposite side of the lake since filming. The famous “fireworks bridge” has been torn down.

The first bridge is between NC-53 and Old Blakes Bridge Road.
The covered bridge was filmed on a second bridge about two miles further down Shaw Highway. The covered portion was built just for the movie.
