Ok so it’s not a horror movie, but Sparta, Mississippi has more murders, kidnappings, cults, and voodoo activity than just about any small town I’ve ever seen. Following the exploits of the Sparta Police Department, In The Heat of the Night is one of my favorite shows to put on and play for background noise. There’s always drama and mystery, although never so much mystery that you get lost if you get distracted doing the dishes or something. The first season was filmed in Hammond, LA, so these locations will only cover the 2nd season and beyond when they moved production to Covington, GA. I’m sure I will continue to add to this page, so keep checking back if you’re a Heat fan!

I wonder if those train tracks that were turned into walking trails have any plaques or signs leftover from the train days like seen in 8.04 photo. I would assume the town would make something in remembrance of the good ol train days that ran through Covington, otherwise, a major piece of industrial history was simply paved over and forgotten..
