Sadly, this location was demolished in October 2021, just a few months after my visit. It was the long abandoned Reddick High School.
i stumbled across this god forsaken movie in my brother in laws moms house in bonita springs florida in 2008 shortly after she passed away from cancer..i got her sons room where i found the movie on vhs i believe and watched it on a vcr..so fast forward to 2026 and im living in bushnell,,just south of lake panasoffkee where the diner is..and not too much further north of there is dunnellon and the tiger trail where the opening driving scene takes place when i guess darry and the girl/his sister are driving back from college and the creeper reerends them and honks that annoying unrealistic horn repeatedly..i dont have a car at the moment but my neighbor does and im tempted to go check out the diner and tiger trail sw 180th st i guess it is just east of dunnellon..i wonder if that church or whatever building is still there with the drain pipe the creeper threw the bodies down??and darry fell into???
