2009 brought the Friday the 13th remake, from the same guys who gave us the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 2003. They returned to Texas to recreate Crystal Lake, and I thought they did a pretty good job. It fulfilled everything I want from a Friday the 13th movie, no more, no less.
When I visited Texas in 2019, I wasn’t able to visit the camp locations, which were filmed at an actual summer camp, since it was summer and camp was in session. But I was able to get to several of the other locations, so it wasn’t a total waste!
