In 2019, I took my first trip specifically to visit filming locations. I settled on North Carolina, as it was a reasonable drive and I could do some good locations I’d been dying to see: I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Conjuring, and Cabin Fever!
I contacted Camp Raven Knob, the scout camp where the cabin is located, and asked if I could come and take some photos and they said yes, so we arranged a date and it all went very smoothly!
The only problem? I took horrible pictures the first time around. I didn’t really know what I was doing, so I just snapped pictures and worried about matching them up to screenshots later. I had a great time, but when I went to match up my photos to the screenshots, they just did not look the way I wanted. So I learned my lesson, and added Cabin Fever to my redo list.
In 2025, an On Set Cinema event was announced for Cabin Fever and it was being held at the cabin itself! I jumped at the chance to revisit the cabin, and I also wanted to see the town square from the beginning of the movie that I didn’t see last time. And of course I had to stop by Priddy’s General Store on both trips.

The cabin seen in the movie is the Catawba cabin at Camp Raven Knob. It is a functioning scout camp founded in 1955 and is private property that can only be accessed with permission.

Priddy’s General Store dates back to 1888. I highly recommend stopping by if you are ever in the area. The owner, Jane, is incredibly welcoming to Cabin Fever fans, very knowledgeable about the movie, and has some memorabilia in the back. It’s also just a cool, old-timey general store. They have shirts and souvenirs as well.

The very beginning when the kids head out of town was filmed in Mocksville. I didn’t stop by here on my original visit, but I made sure to on the redo trip. The Davie County Courthouse that they drive past was built in 1909.
