THE COLLECTION (2012)

The Collection was released on November 30, 2012. A sequel to 2009’s The Collector, it follows the first movie’s hero Arkin (Josh Stewart) who is rescued after a nasty opening massacre set at a nightclub. He is soon roped into joining a team of mercenaries who have been put together to rescue a young woman kidnapped by the Collector, and they venture into an abandoned hotel full of traps to do it.

I thought it was a fun little sequel, and the abandoned hotel setting is great. I was able to see the house used for exteriors in The Collector in 2019 in Louisiana (it was also used in Texas Chainsaw 3D), and some time later I got to wondering where The Collection was filmed.

I looked it up and was surprised/delighted to see that it was filmed in Atlanta! You never hear about this one when horror movies filmed in Georgia come up. The address for the Collector’s house was actually listed on IMDb so that was an easy find, but I had to brute Google search abandoned old buildings in Atlanta to find the exterior for the hotel!
