CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE (1980)

Every now and then I check the Wikipedia page for “Films shot in Georgia” to see if I’ve missed anything or if anything new has been added. The last time I did it, one called “Cannibal Apocalypse” caught my eye. (Also known as “Invasion of the Flesh Hunters” and “Cannibals in the Street”.) I was delighted to find that it was filmed mostly in Atlanta and surrounding areas, so I pulled it up on Tubi to watch and then got to work.

It was surprisingly easy, as most of the locations are listed on IMDb. Although one was not correct – they list the flea market as being at 1954 Candler Road in Decatur, but that is not the correct location, at least for exteriors. See below for the actual location.

They make it look like the theater is adjacent to the town square above, but it is actually about 15 miles away. It is located right next to the Flea Market location as seen in the movie.

IMDb and some other sources have this listed as being at 1954 Candler Road in Decatur. I suppose it is possible some interior shots were filmed there, but the exteriors were definitely in Forest Park. There are also multiple shots through the windows so I think the interiors were filmed here as well.
